In their first Gundog Working Test Season, newcombers Tricia Empsom and Kiska, Sazmallin Swan Song of Sark have had a great start, coming 4th in their first Novice test at Worcester Gundog Society. They then went and won the Slovakian Roughaired Pointer Club GWT, putting another Bracco into the Open Class.
Alan Parr and Senza achieved a third in Open at the same Slovak test, followed by a Second in Open at the Italian Spinone Club HPR GWT.
They also won at the Downs HPR Open GWT and were third at Test Valley.
Dozer, Vittum Nebbiolo (Imp ITA) handled and owned by Michelle Ansell completed his Gundog Working Certificate at the Kennel Club Gundog Working Test where he was also top retrieving dog on the day 60/60 over his three retrieves. Sadly he got bogged down on scent in his hunting which cost him in the awards but he came away with a COM in Novice.
He managed a 6th place at Chatsworth for the German Wirehaired Pointer Club, just out of the awards with 91/100 scored and then a fourth place at the German Shorthaired Pointer Club GWT at Watergrove.
Digger, Madreliath Escavatore, now in his final competitive year, also handled and owned by Michelle Ansell, showed that even at 8 years of age he might not be as clean in his retrieving as in previous years but was awarded a fourth in Open at Chatsworth and again another fourth at the GSPC NW Group Open Working Test.
Digger was also awarded the Bracco Italiano Club Top Working Dog Trophy for the season 21/22, narrowly beating Senza by just one point. This trophy has only been in the hands of Sue and Alan Parr, with Celli, Guido and we are sure the next year Senza taking the honours but what a fitting end to the competitive working life of Digger.
Well done all.
